There is a gripping area with silicone coating to provide a great non slip grip. That is super important...you do not want to mess up by sliding at the last minute. Ever had your edging go wrong? By the way, you can use this anywhere you want to edge, line, or need a guide for razors too. It is see through for your viewing pleasure.
