This was our first time using one. I found that it helps the middle of my back after exercise. My son uses it to loosen his back and leg muscles after strength and cardio workouts. The roller has kneading treads in the middle. My hand grip was great. No slippage. I like that their products are guaranteed. It can hold about 500 lbs so no worries on if it will hold.
